| Another roadside stop -- Roaring Mountain, aptly named as it's full of geysers and steam vents, and makes a lot of growly, snarly noises. | Again, I lament my lack of a good zoom. There's a fair bit of ground between the road and the mountain proper, and you can't walk on it because it's unstable and potentially deadly. | I'm not sure if those trees are dead due to the geothermal action, or due to fires. Quite possibly fires, but it's hard to tell. The blaze happened back in '88, so I can't clearly remember what parts of the park it affected. |
